I am seeking information on the children of Thomas and Mary Hughes. Quoting from the copyrighted Killian Family History:
______________"The family of Thomas and Mary Hughes, often written as being 'of Maryland,' settled in the Natchez District about 1785. Thomas and Mary Hughes' son, Thomas, Jr. was born in 1785 in Mississippi as shown in the 1850 Census and later petitions. His sisters, Mary Ann, born abt. 1780, and Nancy Ann Hughes, born abt. 1785, had been born in Maryland. The Hughes family is present in the Spanish Census of 1792, residing in the Santa Catalina (Saint Catherine Creek) sub-district, just eight miles east of the Spanish headquarters at Natchez. The total number of Thomas and Mary Hughes children is unknown, but three documented siblings are known.
______________Thomas Hughes, Jr. petitioned for a license to marry Mercy Curtis on Nov. 11, 1828 in St. Helena Ph., Louisiana. Thomas had obtained the consent of Matthew Killian, guardian of Mercy Curtis. John Killian personally signed the petition 'for Thomas Hughes'. The marriage was officiated by John Killian, Justice of the Peace, on Nov. 19, 1828 at the house of Martha Killian. Witnesses were Hillery Kemp, William Packwood and William Wheat.
______________Thomas Hughes, Jr., born 1785 in Mississippi, a brother of Mary Ann and Nancy Ann Hughes, and a resident of St. Helena Ph., Louisiana, attended the family meetings regarding the John Killian estate in 1854. John Killian's parents were Joseph Killian and Mary Ann Hughes. Records of Thomas Hughes' presence at the family meetings confirmed he is a brother to Mary Ann and Nancy Ann Hughes who married Joseph and David Killian, respectively."
Do you have information on these Hughes or their descendants?
