Funeral services for Wilmer C. "Curley" Overhultz, 85, will be held Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2004, at 2 p.m. at Sullivan Funeral Home Travis Street Chapel with the Rev. John Sullens officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. also at the Travis Street location. Interment will be in Algoma South Cemetery.

Mr. Overhultz passed away Sept. 20, 2004, at 3:57 a.m. in Marshall, Texas. He was born April 16, 1919, in Marinqouin, La., to Edmond Octave Overhultz and Sarah Lucy Matirne Overhultz.

Mr. Overhultz attended Marshall public schools. He was married to Elizabeth Geraldine Canson in St. Bernard Parish, La., on Jan. 6, 1942. She preceded him in death on March 13, 1999. Mr. Overhultz retired from Thiokol where he had worked as a security guard. He had previously worked for D.O. Gillory's Grocery Store as a butcher. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, camping, hunting, fishing and visiting with friends and neighbors. He was a member of Port Caddo Baptist Church, the Masonic Lodge and Extra Steps.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie and Anita Overhultz of Nacogdoches, and Tony and Laurie Overhultz of Marshall; grandchildren, Todd Overhultz of Lufkin, Tonya and Todd Harden of Burleson, Casey Cline Overhultz of Marshall and Katie Overhultz of Marshall; great-grandchildren, Tyler Welby Harden and Tara Elizabeth Harden, both of Burleson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers for the service will be P.H. Blaylock, Pete Bartley, Donald Beckner, Gus Ash, Mark Jackson and Jose Casas. Bill Hendry, Tommy Glanton, Kenneth Pollard, Norman Bynum and Thurnam Quarles will be acting as honorary pallbearers.

Flowers are permitted or memorials may be made in his name to Port Caddo Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, five brothers and 10 sisters.
