Isaac/Manuel Sterne Ft Jesup LA

I am trying to find anything on an Isaac/Manuel Sterne. He was the younger brother of Adolphus Sterne of TX. Supposedly, he was at Ft Jesup in 1846 after serving in the Mexican War. He was born <1822> in Germany & was on the 1835 Nacogdoches TX census with his brother. The name on the census is Manuel, but in Adolphus' diaries he is called Isaac. Can anyone help me?
