Hello,
My Greatgrandfather was George L. Bird, born about 1840 in LA. He married Charlotte Fox <1850> I have no info on their parents. Early census has them listed as mulatto. They lived in Baton Rouge and raised four daughter's. Charlotte died in 1900 and daughter Pauline, my grandmother, died in 1904. 1920, Lena, Rapides Parish census shows George and daughter's Georgia, Hazel and Louise living with him. The girls then moved on to Marshall,TX. then to Kansas City,MO. The last I know of George is that he must have stayed in Lena,LA. He may have had some connection to this town. Have you come across a George L. Bird in you hunts?
Thanks,
Darleen
