The Spring Creek Chevaliers are my line, too. Joseph Chevalier was a pioneer of the Spring Creek community. He married a girl named Elizabeth. I think her maiden name is Singleton, but I have yet to find any proof. Joseph and Elizabeth had five children--Mary Louisa, Joseph L. who married Alice Lynch, Variste (my greatgreatgrandfather)who married Mary Cook, Amelia who married Millard Charlie Johnson, and Elizabeth A. The children of Variste and Mary Cook were Ella who married Peter Melder, Idella who married John D. Gillespie, William Thomas (my greatgrandfather) who married Lucy Bullock, Christopher Columbus "Lum" who married Bessie Wells, Lucretia Bessie who married Timothy Monroe, Willard Branch who married Della Rollins, Mary Estella who married James Glass, Luther and Price (both died at a young age).
The children of Joseph L. and Alice Lynch were Joseph P, Robert H, Ellis O, John D, Alma L, Cela A, Nancy, and Varice. I'm sorry but I don't have the names of their children.
The name Marshall sounds so familiar. My grandparents used to talk about "Uncle Marshall." I wonder if this is the same Marshall as your grandfather. I've looked through my family group sheets and didn't find him, but then my family group sheets are somewhat sketchy. I'll keep digging and may find him in my files somewhere. Did any of the names I've given you sound familiar? Hope I've helped, and I would love to continue to be of some help. Carol
