Good morning Rosie-
Unfortunately, my notes are not as scientific as yours. My data comes from a family member who compiled the research, based both on data and just common knowledge. The tree was distributed throughout our family. It's at least ten years old. Any other info, I find on geneology.com, familytreemaker.com, historyplace.com, geocities.com and other miscellaneous resources such as these. I wished I could spend time in the libraries and at the churches, but I have banker hours which makes it difficult to do that kind of research at this time. Do you recommend I submit my data to the World Family Tree? I have 400 names in my database? Any pros or cons?
What does "s/o, d/o, VpCh" mean? Do you buy or pay a monthly fee to acess the SLCC? SS Death Index? or any other service? Family Tree Maker has a CD for early LA Settlers of the 1600-1800's for $23.00. It includes dates, details of events, names, age, personal characterisitics, occupation, military, and info on immigration. Would you recommend it? This data was originally published by the Genealogical Publishing company.
Why did our relatives leave France? Was it the war primarily? It seems as though they went went to the Canada, Nova Scotia area. Do you have any records on the boats they took, their occupation (mostly farming?), or anything of this sort?
Regarding Damon and Marie's children, I only have their names. I have not yet researched beyond that so far. If you are able to locate anything based on their names, as always I'd appreciate the info.
Soon I plan to call my aunts and uncles to see if they can help fill in the gaps. I'll keep you posted.
