I do not know much about the Bergeron family. This is a
lateral line - but I'm very interested in it. would love
to meet a descentdent, even. A Jacob Yoast went to LA in
1820, m his neighbor Sarah Moore, d young, in 1834 before father's (Francis) will was probated, but widow Sarah petitioned for children, using name Yoist. she m 2) David
Gay. Jacob's son John, b 2/1832, lawyer in Pointe Coupee,
had 2 ch by Eudora Bergeron, mulatto, and he adopted them, naming them in his will. other relatives contested, won,
it went to higher court and ruling overturned. John's son
Henry Jacob became a Dr, eventually residing in Rapides Parish. Using tradition, Henry should have been her father's name as Jacob was his. John's dau Eudora 'Dora'
is supposed to have m Louis Saizan. we can continue by
email if you wish - I am tmyoast@yahoo.com. theo
