1870 Census Claiborne Co., Miss:
Grand Gulf

James Sterling 45 b:c1824 MISS
Nancy 33 b:c1836
Sarah 16 b:c1853 (later married Anderson)
Mary Adeliza 12 (later "Eliza")
JOSEPH 8 b:c1862
Harriet 6 (likely married by 1880)
Charles 1 (full name Charles Henry maybe?)

Sarah married in Miss.
It looks like your Joseph may have married in Pointe Coupee Parish if he had son Edgar Cliffor by 1895.
His marriage record is intact sitting right there
in the Pointe Coupee Parish, La. Courthouse in
New Roads, La. If the family was Catholic, then your search will be really easy! Watch the spellings; Starling, Sterlin, Sterling, Stirling, etc.

Do you know where the family was in 1910, 1920, 1930, etc.?

Happy Hunting!

Pauline

My Mom =>born and raised in Innis, La. ;-)
