My great great grandfather, Dr. Samuel B. Fluitt was a doctor and also an officer in the Civil War. Perhaps he is the Capt. Fluitt you are looking for. It would make sense that someone was brought to his home with pneumonia. Dr. Sam had several wives. At the time of Simeon Thomas' death he would have been living with Caroline Crane.
