Hi Gloria, I was born in Bawcomville and went to school at Lenwil School 1st through 6th grade. My mother used to talk about the old Lenwil saw mill when we were children. There was a flood in 1927 and 1932 and the only dry spot in Bawcomville was at the old saw mill. Many families lived there waiting for the water to go down. Shortly after the flood of 1945, levees went up around Bawcomville and the Cheniere Dam was built. This completely flooded the area of the old saw mill. On one side of the Cheniere Dam, there still stands the old bridge that used to cross the water. None of my relatives are still alive to ask about workers at the saw mill. Good luck. U
