Thanks for the obituary. The info only muddys the water more. All info in obituary was known, however, we have no prior record or knowledge of the Mexican War service as stated. Very interesting. We traced him and Mary Jane, Wife #2 from Virginia. Along with his nephew, Tanjor T Zimmerman, who's is buried in Minden LA. The 40 year residence is questionable, 20 years, yes, as he married Mary Jane in 1857 in New Orleans.

From all Virginia records, W.H #1 left Alexandria about the time of the birth of his youngest son in either 1853/54. There is no information pertaining to any divorce.

It's a shame the obituary didn't include the cemetery.
We have a sneaking suspicion, we haven't discovered the total history of said, W.H Zimmerman #1

Or by just a chance, we have more than one W.H Zimmerman born in 1815 in Alexandria VA and died in 1878
