In this morning's issue is recorded the death of this old and valued citizen who will be kindly remembered for his warm hearted nature and sterling life. He was a native of Alexandria, Va., and has resided here for a period of forty years, during which he won to himself the esteem of his fellow-men. He served with distinction in the army of Northern Virginia, and was also a veteran of the Mexican war. His many friends and his old comrades in arms, also the firemen in general and the Home Juniors of the Sixth District, will attend in a body to pay the last tribute of respect to the memory of the lamented dead.
