Starting Sept. 30, 2014, Genealogy.com will be making a big change. GenForum
message boards, Family Tree Maker homepages, and the most popular articles
will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
The "Biographical/Obituary Index" has only one TARIFA, a Flora TARIFA, wife of Frank GORSKI. Her obit appeared in "The Times-Picayune" 11 February 1967 (pg. 8 col. 6) and "The States-Item", same date, (pg. 2 col. 2). There is a Flora enumerated with Pedro and Louisa, daughter, born about 1902. I don't know if you have examined the census records but if not, the 1910 census has the surname mistakenly listed as "JAUFA" instead of TARIFA (Hillsborough Co., FL, Tampa, 8-wd, T624, Roll 162, pg. 163). Cutting to the chase, you might want to order Flora's obit since there MAY be mention of sister Eugenia, if she was alive at that time. I suspect this may be Eugenia's sister since the surname TARIFA is fairly unusual. Instructions for ordering the obit are on the website. It only costs a couple of dollars so it's not a big outlay. Note too that the library has city directories and will do searches. However, you are going to need the first name of Eugenia's husband to effectively search. Also, you want to be sure of the spelling of his last name. Anyway, it might be a place to start.
