Seeking information on the Harris Pearson family of New Orleans. According to the 1880 census he was 39 years old who was born in Louisiana, as was his mother; his father in Pennsylvania. His wife was 38 year old Mary who was born in Louisiana, as was her father, her mother was from Ireland. Children listed were: Mary aged 11, Anne aged 8, Lillian aged 7, Caroline aged 4, Sophie aged 2, and Anita born Jan 1880. Harris was working as a clerk.
This is the only census on which I have found Harris Pearson at this approx age. I have not been able to identify Mary as to her maiden name or who were her parents.
Mary is found in 1910 in Bay St Louis, Hancock Co Mississippi. She was a 69 year old widowed school teacher. Living with her was her 11 Ē18Ē year old grandson, Emile Bayhi.
Emile Hubert/Herbert Bayhi was the son of Emile Hubert Bayhi Sr and the above Lillian Pearson. Lillian gave birth on Nov 4 1890 and died on Nov 5 1890 on New Orleans. Emile Sr. remarried [to Laura Louise Bertel] but I believe Emile was raised by his grandmother.
Iíve seen postings on Harris Leander Pearson but I do not believe he to be the Harris Pearson of my research.
Please contact me if you know anything of this family. Iím researching for a friend [descendant of Emile Herbert Bayhi, Jr] who does not have a computer and knows very little of her fatherís family.
My alternate email address is firstname.lastname@example.org.
