John Valentine m. Fannie Edwards LA
Posted by: John Reid (ID *****4841) Date: October 27, 2004 at 15:23:41

I'm searching for information about John Valentine and Fannie Edwards, who are both buried in Lafayette Cemetery in New Orleans, Orleans Parish LA. I have no information about them except for their crypt markers: there is no biographical information on John's, while on Fannie's is listed her death date of 2 Aug 1873 and her age at death of 42 years, 1 month and 7 days.

I'm trying to determine if John and Fannie are related to the Valentine/Volentine families who migrated into LA from MS and Orangeburg District SC during the early 1800's and settled across several parishes, including Feliciana, East Baton Rouge, Catahoula and Grant.

There are other Valentine burials in this cemetery as well:

Valentine, Ellen, 3-May-1896
Valentine, Agnes R., 1-Jan-1867, 1-Jan-1947
Valentine, Helen, 1-Jan-1863, 1-Jan-1938
Valentine, Louisa, 1-Jan-1858, 1-Jan-1909
Valentine, Susie, 1-Jun-1897

Any information or leads about identifying and connecting these Valentines would be appreciated.

Regards, John Reid
