Looking for a River near Parish line

I am trying to locate some property owned in Natchitoches Parish in the 1850s or 60s by my ancestor-the deed description doesn't give survey lines-some of it was sold by Victor Rachal to Edmund Bennett and was described as lying along the east bank of the Athos or Athes? River, commonly referred to as the Little River-does anyone know where that might be-I suspect it is in the southern part of the Parish probably near either Grant or Winn Parish lines. Any help appreciated. Thanks Louise
