There was a W. A. Odom, who in 1903 along with his siblings, signed off their interests held by inheritance from their father, Andrew Odom and mother, Mary Ann Allen, for 20 acres of land purchased from Jefferson Wells in 1871, bounded by Kenneth M. Clark and more land of Jeff Wells [part of which previously had been at sometime, part of the John Compton & Joseph Sharrett Estates. This would place the land west of LeCompte and South of the present location of La. Hwy. 112 between LeCompte and Forest Hill.
Signers of this deed... Sarah A. Paul, widow of Robert Paul; James W. Odom; W. A. Odom [in text as William A.], George O. Odom [twin of W.A.]; J. A. Young [in text as Adaline J.], wife of Walter F. Young; Thos. J. Fowler, heir of Jane Odom, deceased wife of W. A. O. Fowler; T. J. Odom [namesake of Thos. Jefferson Wells]
Most of these folks are buried in nearby Paul Cemetery, located on the old road between LeCompte and Spring Hill community [southeast of Forest Hill, which did not exist in 1871]
I see nothing about an Amanda in this family.Andrew Odom showed to have been born in Indiana on the 1850 census and Illinois on the 1860-1880 census. The 1880 showed his parents to have been born in SC and VA.
