Charlotte, I never could locate "Landoire" the last time I looked for Amiee. I beleave it to be a mispelled version of "Landerneau" which is near Brest, in the Dept. Finistère. The only other region near this would be "Landau" which is in the German, Rhénanie-Palatinat Dept. If you could locate some orignial documents with the correct spelling, you'd know for sure. If he was french, I would think he came from the region around Brest, Nantes, or L'Orient, as did most of our ancesters at this time. If he was one of the German cost families, he'd be from around Strasbourg. Sorry that's all I got.
