AM looking for any descendants of Gibson Goins who was listed on the 1831 census of Choctaws owning farms on the Big Black River in MS in the Choctaw Nation....Gibson was listed there with 2 children under 10...we believe after the lands were lost there, he went into LA with others of the family, but we don't find him again until after 1846 in Oklahoma Indian Territory, and he arrives with only a wife and no children..
Also looking for Antoine Padilla/Paddie who was born around 1796-1800..He was also in LA and married Eveline Goins there..it appears he may have been married previously to Mary Jennie Procella, and that his full name was Joseph Antoine Padilla...We find him only on the 1850 census of Limestone County Texas where he is with my ggg-grandmother Eveline and her parents, Jeremiah Goins and Sharafine Drake and their children...At this time Antoine is 50 years old and Eveline is 20...Antoine and Eveline have 2 children at this time, John and Seaborn, ages 1 yr and 2 months respectively, and these two children are at the time of the census in the household of the Rogers family...The Goins and Padillas are all listed with the letter "Z" in the race column...they are all Choctaws..known variations of the Padilla name in this family are Pady, Paddy, Paddie and Padier...
If you know anything about Gibson or Antoine, please let me know..
