Robichaud Frs-Xavier connected to first
In an answer posted in the Robichaud forum about the ascendants of Virginie Lille Robichaud, I discussed the possible sources of Robichaud to Louisiana.I made a connection of some Robichaud from LA to the Robichaud initially settled in Canada before deportation(Etienne was the first Robichaud).Here it is:
From Etienne, there was Prudent (b. 1669) who had a son Joseph (b. 1694) whose family was deported
to the U.S.
Sons Amable(b.1732), Bruno(b.1724) are known to have settled in Louisiana from the census of 1766
of St.James to Donaldsonville for Bruno and on the census of 1769 of Left bank and Right bank of
Mississipi River for Amable`s widow.
Bruno had 2 sons on the census: Firmin (b. 1751) and Bruno (b.1764) Firmin is mentionned on Census
of May 10, 1777 for Militia to St-Martinville.
Amable left his widow Anasthasie Dugas with Henri (b.1760), Jean-Baptiste (b.1762), Louis Eusèbe (b.
1766) all mentionned on the census of 1769 for Right bank Miss. Riv.
Another possible source of Robichaud to LA is from Etienne -> Charles -> René -> Ephrem (b.1752)
who is on Census of Attakapas or St-Martinville of Oct. 30, 1774. He had a son Ephrem according to
Donat Robichaud`s book.
Now that I wrote all this with the intention of saying: 'That`s all I know', I searched Rootsweb where Earl
posted the Robichaud genealogy and
I found a Virginie Lille, daughter of Barberio Bovier from François-Xavier/Marguerite Landry who is
from Joseph/Anne Hébert.
I just made a link here, that didn`t exist in Donat Robichaud`s first book or from the Rootsweb which
was updated by Earl in Feb.2000, through that Anne Hébert!
In the Rootsweb, this Joseph,husband of Anne Hébert, didn`t have a known father. All is mentionnned is
that he is from St-Malo,France. (for deportation reasons).
There is a Pierre Robichaud from St-Malo who married Anne Hébert, 11-17-1761 in France who has a
son François (b. 09-05-1764) So when I mentionned earlier that Virginie was from a Joseph, it is well
known that all French catholics have Joseph as one of their names!
So, if I read from Joseph Pierre descent, there is a François and a Laurent Xavier(b.04-04-1766) which
none is known to have descendants.
François-Xavier married Marguerite Landry on 07-27-1790 and had a son called Barberio Bovier
(note: never heard these names!) born 05-04-1792 in Louisiane.
He married Cleonise Leonisse Marguerite Melancon on 05-08-1820 in St. Gabriel, Iberville, LA and
had a girl called Virginie Lille born 03-03-1823.
So, to connect everything:
Virginie -> Barberio -> François-Xavier or Laurent Xavier(not sure) ->Joseph Pierre
-> Jean (Cadet)( b. 1693) -> Charles (Cadet) (b. 1667) -> Etienne !!!
