Marion,

I have lost track of several of my relatives that served in the Army of the CSA and that vanished within several years after returning home to Louisiana after the War.

I too, have tried to find them in towns that were founded by Conferate veterans & their families in Western States to no avail.

Then, I read an article in the April, 1998 edition of the American Heritage Magazine about a place in Brazil named Santa Barbara d'Oeste. I have written to them only to find out none of my relatives were among the group that settled there. If you can't find a copy in your library, contact me at hank616@aol.com and I'll fax you a copy of the article. I'd send it now except it is a long article best read & seen in the magazine.

Henry
