I have an EMMA OWENS in my family. She was born "around" 1875 and lived in La Porte, Texas in 1930. Her parents (my gg-grand parents) were John (Jonathan) Daniel Waters OWENS, B:18 May 1846-D:6 Mar 1910-B:League Cemetary, Galveston, TX, married to; Julia Francis NEE:HOWELL, B:16 Jan 1851-D:26 June 1934-B:League City Cemetary, Galveston, TX. He was a member of the 8th Texas Confederate Cavelry, the famed "Terrys Texas Rangers".
Jonathans' parents were John Daniel OWENS and Julia CHOATE, both members of Stephen F. Austins original colonies in Texas. They are not listed as the 'Original 300' so the must have come to Texas in 1822 -vs- 1821.
Let me hear from you.
