Mary Ruth:
To save you some time, I can assure you that the archives will have nothing as far as birth records; birth and death records came into "mandatory being" in uear 1905, prior to that time, they were primarily a church record keeping function.
If you know the faith, attempt to contact
church of same faith and request their assistance; most are happy to help.
