I have been told that our ancestors (Martel) originally came up from the New Orleans area. This would have been in the early 1800's or late 1700's. Some of them settled in Quebec. I have a George Martel that was born about 1820 in Trois Riviers, Quebec. This is as far back as I have been able to go.
