One more note and I will leave it alone.Portions of Clairborne are restricted and off limits. There are areas that are still used as target ranges for military aircraft.I THINK (not sure) they use practice bombs (inert)and maybe live ammo for their machine guns. You can hear the machine guns going off even in Alexandria. However, I have done a lot of work for the military and the rule of thumb is LEAVE IT ALONE no matter what it is.Being an old military installation there is not a bit of telling what a person may find but never ever move it, beat on it, take it as a souvenir, etc.A lot of people enjoy the area just as your brother-in-law does and I am sure any area that might be dangerous is clearly marked.Oh, and one more thing. They clearly mark the Red Cockaded Woodpecker areas. You just think you have problems until you disturb these areas. The Woodpecker areas are marked by distances from the nest tree. You will see maybe a white marker which indicates you are within so many feet of the tree and then you will see the orange markers. You will get in less trouble if you hit your momma then you will if you violate these areas and get caught.
