He may have been just a farm laborer as it says in the census, no relation. The 1850 census says Lucinda Walker was born in Arkansas.

I did not find W.S. Vaughn in 1870 or 1880, so looked for him in the Confederate Army. There was a William Vaughn in the 1st Regiment of the TX Infantry, which recruited soldiers from Polk Co. among others. He may have died in the war.
