John I. Merriman & Mary Ann "Polly" Berwick
Posted by: Dan Merriman (ID *****7328) Date: November 24, 2012 at 17:18:04

I am interested in any information on John Merriman
who married Polly Berwick on 17 Jun 1794 in Opelousas,
St. Landry, LA. Mary Ann "Polly" Berwick was the
daughter of Thomas Berwick, the surveyor appointed by
Bernardo de Gálvez to survey areas in New Iberia. John
was born in Pickworth, Rutland county, England ABT
1760. I would really like to know how and when he
arrived in Louisiana and why. John also petitioned for
land in 1794 and was counted in a 1830 census.
Thanks for any information.
Dan Merriman
