Duhulquod in Louisiana,1800's

Hello everybody,
I have seen in various instances on the internet the name Duhulquod in Louisiana in the early 1800's.
Would anybody work on that name or find more information for me?.
This could be a French family originating from La Rochelle (France) either directly or through Saint Domingue, then a French colony.I am trying to find a link since Joannes de Hirigoity dit Duhulquo (often called Duhulquo), my ancestor, was a french vessel captain that was originally Basque but sailed very often from the port of "La Rochelle" towards "les iles de l'Amérique" namely Saint Domingue. It looks like his family was living "part time" in Saint Domingue and could have moved later to Louisiana.
Any help on the subject would be appreciated.
Thanx,merci
Michel Sarlangue (from France)
