He was a captured and then exchanged POW from Ft. Delaware?
According to records he was captured at Mine Run May 10, 1864 paroled at Ft. Delaware February 1865 and then exchanged on or about March 12, 1865 and was received by Boulware and Cox's Warves, James River, Virginia. Other records indicate that he was hospitalized several times prior to that date. An inquiry was made and dated November 18th, 1911 by the President of the Louisiana Board of Pensioners per records dated March 3, 1915 of the Adjutant General, H. Cain that reveals that information. HOWEVER later records than March 12, 1865 indicate that by March 22, 1865 he was back in the hospital. The Adjutant's letter states that nothing is known after March 1865.
