Doug,

The other name on the 1860 Union Parish, Louisiana Census with L. Smith and family is R. Slasson. It is a different spelling than the family with Elzany? (Lazerus) Smith in the 1850 Lowndes, Alabama census, but I bet it is the same family name.

Any thoughts??
