I appreciate the obit. on Arthur J. Williams, Sr. who died on June 10, 1948. I remember my mother talking about "Uncle Arthur." My grandfather Arthur Baker (Lulias) worked for him at his restaurant. Both were born in Greece and were full-blooded Greeks. Both apparently assumed Americanized names so as to better blend into our society. Arthur J. Williams, Sr. owned The Plaza Cafe at 701 St. Charles St. in New Orleans during the 1930s & 1940s. The two men were cousins. I do not know what Arthur Williams' Greek surname was?????????? I wish I knew. Anybody with any knowledge of this scenario can respond and I will be very appreciative. Thank You.
