I have been thinking about this Lilley Grey on the 1870 Census for Ward 3, Union Parish, Louisana...
Could she be a daughter of John Gray that is on the 1860 Cenus, Union, Louisiana and the 1880 Census 3rd Ward, Union Parish, Louisiana?
On the 1860 Census it is indexed Jno Gray 58, Sarah Gray 48, John Gray, 17, Alex Gray, 9. The son John Gray, age 17 was born in Alabama abt 1843....so was Lilley born in Alabama a year later in abt 1845.
Also the two children Julian Grey and Ardonia Grey...if you look at the census there is a huge span between Alexander, 17 and Julian, 3, Ardonia, 2.
I also note that comparing the 1860 to the 1970 son, John Gray on the 1860 Census born about 1843 in Alabama, age 17 years and the 1870 Census son, Alexander Grey born about 1853 in Louisiana, age 17 years. Something is off with this....they are indexed the same age, yet born 10 years apart on in Alabama and the other in Louisiana. Either the birth of one is off or these two families Jno Gray & Sarah 1860 Census and John Grey 1870 Census with Lilley, Alexander, Julian, and Ardonia are not the same people.
Read this over and give me your thoughts. Out the door to order the films. Also I totally failed to order the information on Walkup and I will do that today as well.
Thanks for all you GREAT help!
