Ida May Paxton/Blanchard

I am at a complete loss. I have tried every forum and ancestor search that I can think of. Including local archives. Hopefully some answers will be found here.

I am looking for information regarding my husband's great grandmother Ida May Paxton; bn abt 1880 (the census says Louisiana as birthplace) - Paxton is her Maiden name. She married Jules Adrien Blanchard. They had a daughter Leona Mary Blanchard which has also been documented as Levona and Ladona in 1909 Lottie, Pointe Coupee Parish, Louisiana - This is my husband's grandmother.

I am told by family members that Ida May was 1/2 native American Indian. When I asked what tribe she was from, I was told that they were just called the "Paxton Indians". Every search on "Paxton Indians" takes me to Paxton Pennsylvania to the "Paxton Boys" and the slaughter of the Conestoga Indians.

I would be truly grateful, if anyone can help me find information on Ida May Paxton and her birth family.
