I am searching for ancestors of the Tolliver family. There were 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Their names were Valentine, Emanuel, Stephen, Frank, Mary, Phoebe, and Peninie. I estimate that about 1844? they were living in Mississippi. Some time before 1860, Emanuel, Stephen, Frank, Mary and Phoebe relocated to Bossier Parish, Louisiana. Later, they went to Texas.
Valentine and Peninie went to and stayed for some time in Alabama. Peninie remained in Alabama with her husband, Robin Green. Peninie and Robin lived 6 or 7 miles east of Montgomery, Alabama.
In 1860, Valentine moved to Bossier Parish (somewhere around Shreveport), Louisiana. It seems that Valentine married twice. At one point, he was married to Charity Rachel Foster. At a different time, he was married to Ellen Johnson, daughter of Peter Johnson and Sophie Gilmer. I do not know which wife he married first.
I would greatly appreciate any and all information on any of the above mentioned people and their ancestors. I do have info on many of the descendants of Valentine Tolliver.
