Shelley, Thank you, thank you. I should apologize that I didn't indicate in my earlier posting that we do have Elizabeth Grey in the census records following her marriage to Spencer Clifford Smith, 1900; 1910; 1920; 1930 and the Texas Death Index 1903-2000. She is buried in South Park Cemetery, Roswell, Chaves, NM along side her husband Spencer Clifford Smith. The listing for both of them from South Park Cemetery and in the Ballard Funeral Books found at the Wilson-Cobb History and Genealogical Library in Roswell, New Mexico gives the following: Bessie G. Smith Born: 1872 Died: 1949 Buried: 21 Feb 1949 South Park Cemetery Block 24 Lot 26 Spencer C. Smith Born: 1869 Died: 1927 Buried: 17 May 1927 South Park Cemetery Block 24 Lot 26 We know that they married in either 1891 or 1892 because their first child Alpha (Alfratta as it is in 1900 census) was born 25 Dec 1892; but we have not found where they married. The information you provided on her death is something we did not have. How did you come by this information. It appears you are looking at a death certificate. If you would let me know where to go for this information I would appreciate it. I am helping my daughter-in-law with research these are her ggg grandparents. There are no stories or information other than what I have provided. We are attempting to get a Death Certificate for her, but if you have one let me know. You can email directly at debbiewoodz@msn.com if you wish. Again, thank you so much...truly and act of genealogical kindness on your part since you indicated no relationship. Have a nice day!
