Owens Families around Vernon, Jackson Parish abt 1860

Does anyone have any information about Owens families residing in Jackson Parish or around Vernon, LA in the early 1860's?

I am searching for the parents of William B(Beecher?) Owens born 1 Dec 1841. Family oral history is that he was born in Pike County, MS. He came to Virginia at the time of the Civil War with the 9th Louisiana Infantry, Company H and married Frances Irene (Fanny) Taylor in Page County, VA in 1863 and remained there until his death in 1908. Living at Vernon, LA in Jackson Parish at time of enlistment in 1861.
