I'm searching for my biological Grandmother. Emma Lee Murphy Rice. She lived in Texarkana until the mid to late 1970's. I can't remember her husbands name. I do recall that the address was 523 Lelia Street. Grandma Rice and family lived in E. Chicago for many years then moved to TX or AR. For some reason that has always been stuck in my head. The address could be on the Texas side or Arkansas...I just don't remember. Grandma had two children in E. Chicago, Indiana, where I know I was born. The oldest, a boy, died very young, when a slot machine fell on him and the other, a girl, is still living. I also remember that Grandma Rice said she came from the Louisiana Murphy's. Grandma had some type of throat cancer, (I THINK), because she couldn't talk, her voice-box had been taken out and she had to wear a cloth around her neck. There may have been a brother, might be Andrew or Andy? He and his wife also lived in Texarkana, I remember her hair being reddish and "way up on her head". Grandma's brother was probably in his late fifties around 1970. I know this isn't much, it's all I have. I was too young to remember much. Can anyone help me?
