No relation, just doing a lookup for you. On census, I only get one result for this name: 1860 Name: David Magill Age in 1860: 18 Birth Year: abt 1842 Birthplace: Louisiana Home in 1860: Attakapas, Saint Martin, Louisiana Gender: Male Post Office: St Martinville Household Members: David Magill 18 Planter Real Estate Value:$150,000 Personal Estate Value: $1000 owned a large number of slaves per Slave Schedules 1850 David Magill St Martinsville, Saint Martin, LA abt 1841 Louisiana household: A I? Magill 39 Lawyer $3000 VA Francis M 28 LA David 9 Mary 7 Augustine 6 Buckner 2 John A Smith 30 Doctor VA (cannot find family in 1860 Louisianna Marriages: Frances Mary Magill Buford A. Prewett 31 May 1855 St. Martin Mrs. Frances Mary Magill Bufford A. Prewitt 02 Apr 1855 Terrebonne (They must have had their marriage recorded in both parishes) I double checked the real estate value showing up for David in 1860, and it's typed correctly here. I wondered how a man his age could have such a large sum showing, then I see that in 1850 it appears is father was an attorney. It then looks like he may have died prior to 1855 and that is wife remarried. David's fortune could have come from the estate of his father, he being the eldest son. I did not find any info to suggest he ever married tho. Notify Administrator about this message?
