WALKER- Fauquier co, VA, LA, TX
Posted by: Kimberly Walker (ID *****7094) Date: July 04, 2006 at 18:34:05

I am seeking information on a William Wallace Walker b: Jun. 6, 1814 in Fauquier Co, VA; d: Jan 10, 1884 Del Rio or Schulenburg, TX ; m: Eveline Smalley of Kentucky bef. 1842? In Louisiana?;

2 children:

1. Mary F. Walker m: Benjamin Wickwane

2. William Wallace Jr. b: Tensas Parish, LA 1844; d: 1901 Schulenburg, TX; m: Nancy Emiline Alice Routh. (I find information about William Wallace Jr. on the internet- he was a doctor and in this information it states that Walker Sr. was from the Old Dominion)

Children: Edwin Ruthven Walker

William Hayden Walker

Kenzie Wallace Walker

Mary Melvina Walker

In 1850 William Sr. and Eveline are living in Tensas Parish, La. Real estate value was $ 56,000, personal estate $51,000.He is listed as a planter.

In 1870 I find him living in Orleans Parish married to his 2nd spouse. Now his real estate value is $10,000 and personal estate is $4,000. He is a dray operator.

2nd spouse Virginia Gourley born in Rankin Co, MS 1848; d: 1883 in Del Rio, TX. By 1880 they are in Columbus, TX and he is working on the railroad. They end up in Del Rio, TX also a RR town.

Children: Llewellen Powell Walker born New Orleans 1873 (I get Fauquier Co. as his father’s birthplace on Llewellen’s birth cert.)

Lula M. Walker born LA abt 1876

Daisy Walker born Texas abt. 1880

The dilemma….I cannot for the life of me find anything about William Wallace Walker Sr.!!! I have searched for years and I continue to hit a brick wall. Was wondering anyone might be able to shed some light on this dilemma. I would really like to find siblings or parents of William Wallace Sr.
