I assume that you know that death certificates for that time period (1974) have to be ordered from New Orleans, LA and can only be ordered by members of his immediate family..parents, brothers, sisters, etc. Death certificates up until about 1950 or so, are ordered from Baton Rouge, LA at the Archives..The Archives are not quite as restricted as to who can order death records, but Louisiana is pretty much a stickler as to who can get death certificates in the time period that you describe. I assume that they assume that if Charles Robert Jones is a member of your family that you would know which parish he was born in. (Louisiana has parishes, not counties! You sound as if you are not sure that he died in Louisiana. Bobbie in Louisiana
