says she died Dec 1976 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles, California.

http://vitals.rootsweb.com/ca/death/search.cgi
pins it down to
12/10/1976

but her BD here is 3 years later - 08/22/1902.

She might have married a man younger than herself and fudged, (fudging was pretty common, for women who maried younger men back then) or whoever told the county clerk may have been distraught, or something else. Lithinia is so rare a given name it almost has to be the same woman.

You might try for an obit, but LA is a big city, so your chances are slim. You could try for a death record.

has just 8 people in the entire USA named "Kalop" in 1880, none of them Hall. That means

1) I mis-read your post, "Kalop" wasn't his given name
2) He was born after 1880, married young, sired Lithinia before he was hold enough to vote
3) He went by his initials
4) Your source heard "Caleb" and wrote "Kalop"

5) If Lithinia was black, one of these young men might be him in 1880. I looked for "Caleb" Hall in Louisiana and Mississippi on

The one in Mississippi is a better fit for the name, the one from Louisiana a better fit for the location. Both are long shots. Mansfield is in DeSoto Parish, not Caddo, but young men often move away from home.

Lithinia's SSN application will tell you her parents' names for sure, including her MMN, but it is $27.

I hope this helps. I'm not related.
