Ivins, Ivens, Guagen or Guager from New Jersey
I am looking for information on Mary (looks like Guagen or Guager) who was living in Louisiana in 1840.She was a daughter of Solomon Ivens and Catherine Scott of New Jersey. Solomon was in the Revolutionary War and his pension file contains an 1840 document from Mercer County, New Jersey, listing his children, including Mary Guagen or Guager, with the indication that she was living in the state of Louisiana.
I know of a William T. Ivins (from New Jersey) who lived in Marengo County, Alabama then moved to Caddo Parish but he is not one of the children listed in the pension file record - but I suspect could be related.
The Ivins surname is most often spelled Ivins, but Ivens is a frequent spelling (and the way it is spelled in the pension file record) and I have also seen Ivans.
Thanks
Paul
