The Orleans Parish, Louisiana, marriage registration index shows that Joseph Strohmeyer, age 20, married "Mattie" DePriest, age 18, on 11 Dec 1889. The original marriage document might list Mattie's mother's birth surname. Copies can be obtained from the Louisiana State Archives.
