William Walters/Rural Retreat Plantation
Posted by: Dawn George (ID *****9791) Date: June 17, 2003 at 09:26:05

I am hoping someone out there knows something about my gg-grandfather, William Walters. He was a steamboat captain. I have heard that he owned 4 steamboats, one of which was named after his daughter, Sallie Walters. Sallie was married to C. O. Groves.
William Walters owned a plantation in Rapides Parish named "Rural Retreat." I would appreciate any info. Thanks, Dawn
