My problem is I am looking for any Crocketts buried close to St Tammany Parish or E Fel who died between 1830 and 1840
Preferebly a Eli or Leonard maybe? Eli also was supposed to have a son named Eli b abt 1828 and died in 1839
My gggggrandfather was one Eli/Elijah Crockett and he was married in St Tammany Parish La in 1813 to one Martha Durdin (marriage record list her as Patsy Durdino) then moved to Rankin Co Ms and then back to La and was on the 1830 E Fel Census . We have been unable to find him after that but his wife Martha Durdin Crockett and my ggggrandfather Andrew David Crockett were in Jasper Co tx by 1841 (land records) and Andrew had 2 sisters Letty/Lettie/Letteha/Lily
Crockett who married Elias Whitmire in Rankin co Ms in 1837 and Sarah Crockett married Danile Lowe (law on marriage record) in Rankin Co Ms in 1836. Elias and Letty went to San Augustine Co tx in 1850 an Daniel and Sarah were in Jasper Co tx living next door to Andrew and his mom in 1850. No Eli anywhere or any other Crockett family. No Crockett Family in Rankin Co Ms in 1840 either. However there is a Mrs M Crockett in Leake Co Ms in 1840 but the kids ages and sexes are wrong even though I think it might be my Martha Crockett. I have not yet checked the Rankin Co 1850 census due to lack of time. And I am still looking in Rankin Co Ms for his grave.
We are in search of the grave of Eli. Supposedly he was visiting family out os state when he died (Family lore). So we thought maybe he might be buried in St Tammany if he still had family there. Unfortunatly we do not know who his parents are or if he had any siblings. And I did find a land record in Washington and Rankin Co Ms in the year 1840 for his wife listed with one Leonard Crockett (we do not know who this Leonard Crockett is yet)and they were listed as tennants is common and not as Joint temmants however Andrew my ggggrandfather had a son he named Leonard Lewis Crockett (my gggrandfather) who was born in 1852 in Jasper Co Tx. So we are sure he is related somehow but the question is HOW?
Any help with St Tammany parish would be greatly appreciated as I live in Wichita Falls Tx way up by OK.
This has been one diffucult family let me tell you!!!!!!
