Looking for information on the family of my grandfather - Sebern Joel Broomes (maybe Broome) b. March 10, 1862
d. Dec. 13, 1934. He married Nancy Jane Parish and they lived in the Niblett's Bluff area where they are both buried today. He owned a farm and did logging up and down the Sabine River for different companies. He is believed to have come to Louisiana from Mississippi (Columbia, Sandy Hook area) after getting into trouble with the law there. Children were Sam Broomes, William Jefferson Broomes, Charles Arthur Broomes, Mary Gussie Broomes, Laura Broomes, Ida Irene Broomes, Aaron Wesley Broomes, Ella J. Broomes, Edna Broomes, and Floyd Lee Broomes.
