The following is from the on lne 1910 Livingston Federal Census, Part 1, Livingston Parish, Louisiana Ward 1. Your Oscar is indicated as the son of Robert & Dorothy Crotwell.
Dorothy Louise Arnold married Robert "Bobby" Crotwell on 24 Dec 1905 in Livingston Parish, LA. Robert Crotwell was the son of Uriah C. Crotwell and Caroline Adelilne Ellis.

Uriah C. Crotwell was the son of Adam & Elizabeth Crotwell. Adam Crotwell, the son of George & Barbara Crotwell was born in SC about 1800. George Crotwell was born in SC about 1765 and Barbara b. abt 1770 in SC. Additional information on these are posted on this forum.

The earliest Crotwells I have found in this country appear in the Newberry Co. SC area. I have not found where they migrated from. As the family grew, they migrated to GA and on west.

I don't know the source of the Crotwell name. I have found the following:
John Crotwell married Ann Pott on 1 Aug 1772, Saint Nicholas At Wade, Kent, England - source for this is the LDS FamilySearch website. I recall seeing the name connected with Wales but can't find that at this time.
