I am looking for information about a family who lived in Livingston Parish in Ott's Mill. The father's name was John Milledge Gartman and his wife was Nancy Ann Hoover. I would like to know what his profession or means of living was. They lived there during the Civil War. In 1876 he and his family wagon trained to TX and that is he where he lived the rest of his life. His daughter Nancy married Ike Roberts and they are my great great grandparents.
