Seeking information on the descendants and background of William Green “Willie” SISEMORE (1836 GA – 1909 TX), who m. Mary Ann DAVIS (1839 GA – 1918 TX). This couple appears on the 1880 census of Lincoln Par, LA. Their children: William C. SISEMORE, b. 1854 (AL?) Jesse R. SISEMORE, b. 1860 AL (male) John F. (or Tom) SISEMORE, b. 1862 AL (said to have been a U.S. Marshall in LA) Green Simeon “Simmie” SISEMORE, (1866 AL-1911 LA), m. Mabel Estelle LYLES Frances SISEMORE, b. 1870 LA Lecurtis (or Lucretia?) SISEMORE, b. 1871 LA Charles Virgil “Charley” SISEMORE, (1875 LA-1959 TX), m1. 1896 Maybelle A. SUMMERLIN (also appears as SUMLIN, SUMMERLAND), m2. 1913 Nita THOMAS Asa “Acie” SISEMORE, b. 1879 LA Simmie stayed in the Jackson/Lincoln Par. area of LA to rear his family. Charlie and Acie had both moved to Grayson Co, TX, by 1900. I have additional information on these lines I would be glad to share. W. G. “Willie” SISEMORE may be the son of Thomas SISEMORE (b. ca. 1800 SC), who drew land in the 1827 Georgia Land Lottery as a resident of Gwinnett Co, where he headed a household in 1830. He appears in Carroll Co, GA (1840), and Benton/Calhoun Co, AL (1850, 1860). Thomas is believed to be a son of Henry “Tal” and Abigail (UNKNOWN) SIZEMORE, who removed from SC to GA in the 1820’s. I am interested in contacting researchers or descendants of this family – thanks. John <retrofit@flash.net> Notify Administrator about this message?
