I try to look every so often to see what has been posted.I am particulary intetested in Lafayette Parish as my gg grandfather was William Reeves brother of John Reeves who had the famous battle with the Moultons for where the town of Lafayette would be established.Later in a lawsuit the Reeves did win a victory and the land they donated was returned to them. It is noted in a book by Harry Lewis Griffin ,The Attakapas Country.

I had the great pleasure of going to Lafayette Parish and going to the Vermillionville Cafe for dinner and brought home a drawing of it.

It has been most rewarding to find a heritage I never knew existed until I started a search for family that even my grandmother didnt know existed.
